We hear often from people and brands who are on social media. “Beyond Social Media” is a space for people who are curious about another way. This newsletter aims to help you build more connection with people and communities you care about and feel less governed by algorithms, feeds, and “always-on” energy.

Leaving or dialing back social media in your life can be a good mental health decision, but it may create a void. I’ll share stories and ideas, analyze cultural developments, and hopefully create a community people and organizations who want to connect after disconnecting from these tools. Subscribe if you who have left social media, are using it more minimally in your life, or if you just want to learn more.

About me

As a writer, I’ve explored social media’s impact on focus, mental health, and our perception of reality, and particularly how Generation Z is trying to change their relationship with it. As a marketing and communications professional, I still have to use and understand social media, and I grudgingly admit it has its uses. But I’ve minimized its role in my life, and noticed benefits. I’m figure this out alongside you, and I hope to do it in a way that is valuable and meaningful and get your ideas too.
